STEP UP FOR CEREBRAL PALSY

Cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood. It’s caused by damage to the developing brain either during pregnancy or shortly after birth – directly affecting a person’s movement and posture for life.

Every step you take and every euro you raise supports the research, helping people living with cerebral palsy to live their best lives. Join the movement today.

WHAT YOU’RE STEPPING FOR

Since its creation in 2005, the Fondation Paralysie Cérébrale has conducted each year calls for projects, and supported almost 80 research projects. This helped to accompany or accelerate important advances in fields as diverse as neuroscience, medical imaging, molecular or cellular biology, neuropaediatrics or rehabilitation. But it is still too little. In order for this continuous research work to be translated into concrete progress in the lives of the people affected, this effort must be supported and amplified.

In 2018, La Fondation Paralysie Cérébrale decided to dedicate a massive and unprecedented support of €1.5 million for research on CP by selecting a European great joint project called CAP! The goal is to evaluate changes induced by the HABIT-ILE Therapy (intensive and playful early motor rehabilitation) in preschool-aged children.

This is crucial for the development of guidelines for the early rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy. The results of this study will impact the whole international community of individuals with cerebral palsy and their families.

By stepping up to the challenge, you’ll be supporting people living with cerebral palsy.
